Twins at Rest During Treatments
"I'm way overdue to write a review about Rosita's work. I wanted to wait to hear the test results at the ARD school meeting last week.
I have identical twin boys, Cooper and Wyatt, who are 6 years old. They were born at 29 weeks and didn't speak a word until almost 4.5 years old nor did they seem to understand when we talked to them. At 3 and 5 years doctors did some testing on them and came to the agreement both have I.D. (Intellectual Disability or formerly called mentally retarded).
I remember sitting down with my good friend Rosita, crying to her about my test results. Even though I knew she helps cases like this, I was reluctant to try it. So we put the boys in speech and occupational therapy which did help but after a while their speech was still very limited and words weren't spoken clearly.
Last year in their summer break I tried to have an open mind about Rosita's work so I decided to let her work on my boys. It was very interesting to watch the gentle approach. After a couple of sessions, Cooper especially had a much clearer pronunciation and words that he has never been able to say came out of his mouth like it had never been an issue. Wyatt also now can tell short stories from school, which are making sense now, and his stuttering is completely gone.
Beginning of January 2017, the school teachers tested them so that we can come up with a plan on how to get help in school. The test consisted of reading, writing, math, social skills, and art. The first thing the teachers said at the meeting was that the boys are way above the I.D. range. They are close to perfect in motor skills and the results in all other subjects are slightly below average and average on some. Except one got a low math score. But that's quite all right.
