Just finished this Oil painting of my favorite Texas fall wildflowers. I am preparing to be in the Spicewood Art and Wine Tour in April 2010.  I am really enjoying creating beauty.
These flowers we picked for my October wedding and every fall they greet me with that beautiful memory of my inlaws out with scissors gathering them that morning out here in the hill country.  The little roadrunner nestled by the tree trunk seems caught suddenly by the viewer once it is found. With one trunk still standing and the other one gone, I see myself in here as the one left standing after my husband's sudden death.  I feel his spirit though in that roadrunner by my side--and in the ones that run by my house daily.  Becoming a widow has had poetic moments when I am moving slow enough to notice.
